KEW GARDENS, Queens NY– According to police reports, a man in Queens fatally shot another individual who allegedly attempted to rob him.

The incident occurred on 82nd Avenue in Kew Gardens at approximately 2 a.m. on Wednesday.
The 32-year-old suspect was armed with a knife and purportedly tried to rob a 65-year-old individual.
In self-defense, the 65-year-old shot the would-be robber.
Following the incident, the older individual promptly contacted the police and is fully cooperating with the authorities.
Law enforcement officials recovered the firearm used in the incident at the scene.
