SAN DIEGO, California– On Friday afternoon, a tragic incident occurred in San Diego where a woman lost her life after bags of cement fell from an overturned truck on an interstate offramp.
The California Highway Patrol (CHP) reported that the incident took place around 1 p.m.

The truck involved was a Chevrolet pick-up truck with a one-ton stake bed, traveling at approximately 60 miles per hour on the southbound side of the freeway towards the offramp.
According to the CHP, as the truck proceeded onto the offramp, the driver experienced a shift in the load he was carrying, which included bags of cement and other construction materials, causing the truck to overturn.
Tragically, during the incident, bags of cement fell from the truck, leading to fatal consequences for a woman involved.

The CHP is likely conducting further investigations into the circumstances surrounding the incident to gather more information about the exact cause and factors involved in the tragedy.
The driver then lost control of the truck, causing it to overturn.
The cement bags spilled onto the roadway, and several fell from the ramp onto the Route 52 lanes below the offramp. One, or possibly two bags of concrete fell directly from the road onto the windshield of a black Mercedes traveling on Route 52, CHP said.
During the incident on the San Diego interstate off ramp, a woman in her 70s, who was seated in the passenger side of a car, was struck by the falling bags of cement. Tragically, she did not survive her injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene by medical personnel.
Both the driver of the Mercedes and the truck driver involved in the incident were reported to be uninjured. Their vehicles did not sustain significant damage during the incident.
The authorities are likely conducting investigations to determine the exact sequence of events and factors that led to the bags of cement falling from the truck, resulting in the unfortunate loss of life.
