FLORIDA–Authorities are investigating after a newborn baby’s body was discovered in a dumpster behind a business in Lakeland on Thursday morning.

According to the Lakeland Police Chief, a man was rummaging through the dumpster when he found a bag containing the body of a male baby, still attached to the placenta and umbilical cord, which may have been dead for several hours.
