
LONG BEACH, CALIFORNIA–Late Tuesday, a 12-year-old boy was fatally shot in Long Beach by unidentified suspects while walking down the street with two teenage girls.
The incident took place on Lewis Avenue at around 11:32 p.m. Responding officers found the boy with serious injuries to his upper body and he later died at the hospital.
One of the girls, aged 14, sustained non-life-threatening injuries to her lower body, while the other, aged 13, was unharmed.

According to the police, the victims were walking on the sidewalk when a vehicle with at least two male suspects approached them. The suspects shot at the victims before fleeing the scene.
Long Beach Police Department’s Chief Wally Hebeish expressed his grief over the incident, describing it as a tragic and unacceptable act of gun violence that claimed a young boy’s life.
He also assured the community that the police officers would continue their efforts to find and apprehend those responsible for this heartbreaking incident.
