Mississippi,Ocean Springs— Police confirmed that a shooting at The Scratch Kitchen in Ocean Springs, Mississippi, during a Cinco de Mayo party on Friday night resulted in the death of 19-year-old Chase Harmon from Pascagoula and injuries to at least six others.
The surviving victims were taken to nearby hospitals, but the extent of their injuries is yet to be disclosed. The police have not made any arrests as of Saturday morning, and the investigation is ongoing.
The restaurant’s owner, Brittany Alexander, said that there were approximately 200 people present when the shooter ran past security checks at the entrance to the patio. The shooter was not a customer and did not have an armband or any other authorization to be on the premises.
