RENO, Nevada.–An investigation has been launched by authorities in Nevada following the death of a female college student, whose lifeless body was discovered on the university campus by workers on Thursday morning.

The quad area close to the engineering building is where the body of the 21-year-old, identified by the Washoe County Regional Medical Center as Quincy Russell, was found. The student was known by the name Sky, according to her family members. The university officials expressed their sadness at the news of the student’s passing and confirmed that she was enrolled at the institution.

In a letter addressed to the staff and students, UNR President Brian Sandoval expressed his sorrow and shared that the university community is grieving the loss of one of their own students, who was discovered deceased on the campus. The university police established a perimeter around the site where the body was found, and according to investigators, there were no apparent indications of injury or harm.

The student was pronounced dead at the location. No classes or buildings were affected or closed as a result of the incident. An autopsy will be conducted to determine the cause of death, and Washoe County officials have stated that it is currently pending.
