The World Health Organization (WHO) has taken the decision to terminate the employment of the scientist who headed a prominent delegation from the U.N. health agency to China two years ago. The purpose of the delegation was to conduct a collaborative investigation into the origins of the coronavirus pandemic.

The individual in question, Peter Ben Embarek, who led the WHO team alongside Chinese scientists, was dismissed by the health agency last year due to allegations of sexual misconduct. In response to various cases and incidents reported in the media, the WHO has recently intensified its efforts to combat sexual abuse, exploitation, and harassment.
