
A school bus in Deputy, Indiana, caught fire with students on board during Tuesday afternoon’s commute. The incident occurred on North Bethany Road as the bus was transporting students from Deputy Elementary School.
Thankfully, all students and the bus driver were safely evacuated. Emergency Medical Services (EMS) assessed the students, and their families were promptly notified. Madison Consolidated Schools expressed gratitude towards the experienced bus driver, Jessie Ritzline, for her heroic efforts, as well as the swift actions of the students on board. Mechanics will now evaluate the bus, and fortunately, no injuries were reported.
